Innovative vehicle offering new services and performances in the agricultural domain. As farms get bigger, farmers need more and more to have vehicles that will fit easily into road traffic.
My project is to conceive a vehicle that will better answer the expectation of the farmer of 21 st century’s, to better integrate with the environment, to facilitate their work and will be safe for its users as rest of the traffic.
Beyond its function to feed the mankind, agriculture gives an image of the complexity of the living world, it is a mirror reflecting the success and the failures of human beings.
Seen under this angle, the acquired experience, during these last years, leads to many questions : rehabilitation of time and environment, redefining the respective responsibilities of mankind and the institutions, new hierarchy of the objectives and the French farmers entered in turn, the industrial revolution, French farming became one of the first agricultures of the world. But this mutation realized within half a century was often made to the detriment of the protection of the patrimony of life of the planet, and this process allowed people to eat without the famine, to eradicate disease and to make a more and more austere permanent control of foodstuff.
It is an obligation to take into account modes of culture and breeding which protect the patrimony of life. For example, resource in water, maintenance of earth and protection of the ecosystems.
After analysis of the tractor market, and the various segments of range, which are defined by the surface, the specialty of the exploitation undertaken (cereals, animals…) and the specific tasks. It is apparent that the horse power of the tractor is related to all of the above considerations. I realize that there is a segment from 20 to 50 hp which is ignored by the tractor manufacturers. For some years, one sees appearing within the agricultural environment, ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles) ,these are not adapted to the needs of the farmer.
The farmer requires a vehicle which assures safety and user-friendliness and it should improve productivity for maximum profitability. It should be reliable and easy to maintain. As farms get bigger, the farmer increasingly has to have the ability to quickly and easily fit into road traffic. How, as a designer, can I envisage an innovative vehicle offering new services?
My project is to conceive a vehicle which answers better the expectations of the farmer of the 21 st century, to integrate better with the environment, to facilitate the work undertaken, and consider his safety. This vehicle is an alternative between the ATV, the car and the tractor, allowing the farmer physically and psychologically to join the evolution of the agricultural profession.
